The new health care law (NHS) allows a private dentist to prescribe erectile dysfunction (ED) pills online in New Zealand.
New Zealanders may only obtain the prescription from a doctor if the doctor prescribes the product, which is illegal. The prescription is not valid until at least six months after the end of the current treatment.
The new law is designed to make the drug more accessible, without the need for a doctor's consultation.
It does not affect the price of the drugs, which the Department of Health said had increased from $3.58 to $6.18 per pill.

The dentist must be licensed in New Zealand, but can sell or supply the drugs online.

Praveen Sharma said that, although the new law did not affect the price of the drugs, it does have a bearing on how the medicine is manufactured and distributed.
